It is called French fries in North American English,
Chips in British English and other national varieties,
Finger chips or simply chips in India and in Pakistan.
French-fried potatoes, or simply fries, are usually long finger like cut deep-fried potatoes of disputed origin from Belgium or France.
Ingredients
- 5 pounds potatoes
- Vegetable or peanut oil, for frying
- Black paper powder
- Chili tomato catch up Salt
- Salt to taste
Recipe Procedure
Step 1
Peel and rinse the potatoes. Then cut them into sticks by cutting the potato in 4 or 5 vertical pieces, and then cutting each piece into sticks.Step 2
Place them in a large bowl and cover with cold water. Allow them to soak, 2 to 3 hours. (You can also stick them in the fridge and let them soak overnight.)
Step 3
When you're ready to make the fries, drain off the water and lay the potatoes on 2 baking sheets lined with paper towels. Blot with paper towels to dry them.
Step 5
Heat a few inches of oil in a heavy pot to 300 degrees F or medium flame on stove.
On medium flame fry until it's become light brown or if you want run in In 2 or 3 batches, cook the potatoes until soft, 4 to 5 minutes per batch. Untill they becomes light brown from inside soft and upper crispy.
Step 6
Sprinkle with salt and black paper powder and surve with chili tomato catchup and dive in!
